The office building in Brussels (Machelen) houses ExxonMobil's regional headquarters for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA) and the European Technology Centre (ETC) for research and development.

 

 

 

What will you do?

 

We are looking for several Research Lab Interns in different analytical laboratories. In ETC we strive to develop and maintain state-of-the-art capabilities to advance research in support for businesses throughout ExxonMobil. Research topics span from the discovery of novel catalytic material for new or more efficient production processes, to the development of next generation packaging solutions maximizing recyclability, via implementation of latest analytical techniques.

 

Responsibilities:


•    Safely operate equipment, including start-up, sampling, data logging, adjusting conditions, performing housekeeping duties, and shutdown.
•    Plan and organize tasks efficiently, ensuring prompt communication on job status.
•    Pay attention to detail, have strong observation skills, and execute activities flawlessly to meet quality requirements.
•    Interact effectively with different groups and levels within the organization.
 

 

 

For this role we are looking for candidates with


A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Production Technology, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

 

  • Strong focus on safety
  • Working accurate, good observation and reporting / communication skills
  • Understanding the importance and ensuring implementation of procedures
  • Team player (being flexible and helping team members when needed)
  • Taking initiative and being pro-active
  • Passion for learning and willing to support. 
  • A reasonable standard of English is required (company documentation is mainly written in English and it is the lingua franca of the company). Additional language knowledge is a plus.
