Join us as a Risk Control Analyst. Become part of a team responsible for monitoring and managing the risk associated with ExxonMobil’s trading activities. You will provide risk control analysis for global and regional activities sitting alongside commercial traders and advising daily on risk positions, value and potential exposure.

Primary job functions

 

  • Execute daily risk control processes and generate risk reports; working alongside trading to manage market and operational risk
  • Ensure daily data integrity, validate positions, and reconcile data inconsistencies with responsible traders
  • Construct reporting tools, using advanced computer knowledge and skills: excel/VBA/MS Office/Python/...
  • Develop and maintain forward curves. Advise on the financial impact and risk exposure of new strategies, activities or transactions
  • Maintain general knowledge, expertise and awareness in the energy trading risk management area
     

The successful candidate will work with a team of analysts who support the Europe Product & Feedstock Trading team, based in Brussels.

 

Candidate Requirements

 

  • To be eligible for this role, you must:
  • Hold a university degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative field. 
  • Have experience in in energy trading, financial or energy risk management 
     

Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment

Preferred Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

 

  • Attention to detail with a strong process execution focus
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial instruments
  • Strong understanding of decision analysis techniques, statistical modelling and comfort in modelling issues involving risk and uncertainty
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis and application to energy transacting
  • The desire to work in a fast-paced, diverse and inclusive environment
