What role you will play on our team

As a Gasoline Analyst, you will sit at the core of our trading operations, supporting the gasoline trading desk with high‑impact market analysis, data‑driven insights, and strategic recommendations. You will work closely with traders, senior analysts, and developers to interpret global and regional gasoline fundamentals, monitor physical and derivative flows, and identify trading opportunities across Europe, the Atlantic Basin, and key export markets.

What you will do

  • Drive gasoline analytics for the European, Mediterranean, and trans‑Atlantic markets.
  • Shape cross‑regional trading strategies by analysing structural shifts in gasoline blending, refinery operations, and global arbitrage flows.
  • Build and maintain supply, demand, and inventory models for gasoline and light-ends.
  • Track refinery margins, blend components, trade flows, biofuel mandates, and evolving product specifications.
  • Forecast market tightness and structural imbalances using proprietary and third‑party datasets.
  • Partner with traders to assess risks, evaluate arbitrage economics (e.g., Europe–U.S. Atlantic Coast, Med–West Africa), and identify opportunities in physical and paper markets.
  • Deliver actionable insights through dashboards, pricing scorecards, and structured strategy sessions.
  • Recommend and support execution of trade strategies grounded in fundamentals.
  • Develop and maintain robust analytics systems and visualisation tools using SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Collaborate with developers to enhance data ingestion pipelines, optimise querying, and integrate new sources of market intelligence.
  • Produce weekly and monthly gasoline market reports highlighting regional balances, refinery turnarounds, blending economics, freight trends, and macro indicators.
  • Present market views to senior stakeholders across trading, risk, and management teams.
  • Coordinate closely with trading teams in Houston and Singapore to align global gasoline views and support portfolio decisions.
  • Engage with both physical and derivatives desks—including RBOB, Eurobob, and naphtha—to ensure a coherent interpretation of light‑ends market dynamics.

About you

  • A degree in Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience in Crude Oil market analytics, preferably within a trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of global crude oil flows, macroeconomic trends, and commodity pricing.
  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and Power BI for data analysis and visualisation.
  • Experience building and maintaining supply & demand models and trading dashboards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Exposure to derivatives trading and physical market operations is highly desirable.
