What you will do
As a Global Trading commercial graduate you will be furnished with a real job from day one, gaining hands on experience, to help cultivate foundational trading skills to establish your own career path.
Areas to apply:
Your first role will be determinded by which team you apply to: -
Trading Analytics - Performing fundamental market analysis for your commodity that includes using proprietary and third-party data in order to develop actionable market insights of where you see the market evolving and the opportunities for physical and derivative market positions to support commercial decision making by our trading teams. You will be given the opportunity to develop analytical market views to support trading decisions, researching and highlighting key market events and monitoring how they affect sentiment.
Quantitative Analytics – Conducts quantitative analysis of structured deals to support market-based asset valuations and design hedging strategies; leverages understanding of market fundamentals, dynamics and instruments available to develop and recommend profitable trading strategies.
Trading Risk & Compliance - Supports Trading in the areas of Exchange Administration, Regulatory and Compliance, Risk Control, Valuations, Risk Reporting, and Risk Analytics. Graduate hires will work closely with Trading and other functions (e.g. Controllers, IT, financial/executing brokers, etc.) to ensure Trading PnL, exposures, mark-to-market accounting, limit monitoring and permissions process are accurate and delivered in a timely fashion.
Trader Development Program (TDP) – Our Trader Development Program (TDP) is a fast paced, competitive program that will enable you to develop the competencies and skills required to become a successful energy trader at ExxonMobil. You will complete multiple trading role rotations to gain crucial experience in operations, risk and analytics. Throughout your time on the TDP you will receive formal training as well as mentoring and feedback from Senior Traders to further your development. All of this will lead to a formal end of Program assessment. If successful, you will be ready to commence your career as a trader enjoying roles with increasing complexity, responsibility and market exposure.

About you
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Have at least a 2:1 degree in any subject
- N.B. For Quantitative Analytics a minimum of a MSc or PhD in a quantitative subject such as Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Finance, Computation, and Engineering
- Be graduating in 2025 or have graduated in the last 3 years (2024-2022)
- Be able to demonstrate:
- A strong attention to detail
- Analytical, numerical and problem solving skills
- An interest in financial markets
- The ability to communicate, collaborate and work effectively with an international team environment
- Leadership capabilities
Relevant work experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
