What role you will play in our team
We are seeking passionate individuals with demonstrated technical leadership and business acumen who can effectively work and collaborate within diverse global teams to drive operational excellence across our business.
We are recruiting Reservoir Surveillance Engineers with 3 to 10 years' experience to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will work closely with our global Technical and Operations teams to support ExxonMobil’s global portfolio. The position may also require flexibility to work outside standard office hours when business needs arise, especially when coordinating with global stakeholders across multiple time zones.
What you will do
The Reservoir Surveillance Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing reservoir performance to realize maximum asset value. This role involves integrating production data, well performance, reservoir behavior, facilities and operational considerations to support operational and strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Monitor and analyze reservoir and well performance using industry-standard surveillance tools and techniques
- Conduct material balance, decline curve analysis, and production forecasting
- Design and implement data acquisition plans (for example: pressure surveys, PLTs, well tests)
- Identify opportunities for production optimization and recommend interventions
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure alignment on reservoir management strategies
- Prepare and present reservoir performance reports and opportunity proposals to stakeholders
- Support reserves estimation and annual business planning activities
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline
- 3–10 years of experience in reservoir engineering and production optimization
- Proficiency in using industry-standard reservoir surveillance tools such as KAPPA, IPM, and OFM
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of well testing, nodal analysis, and production systems
- Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills / abilities:
- Demonstrated technical leadership and business skills and expertise to solve complex problems
- Meaningful mentoring experience
