We are expanding our Technology Centre in Kuala Lumpur and looking for passionate individuals with excellence and compete to win mind-set to drive change in our business, and who enjoy working in dynamic, collaborative, and diverse global teams.
Currently, we have an opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer with a minimum of five years of working experience with polymers to join our Polymers group in the Kuala Lumpur Technology Center. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and may require overseas business travels based on business needs. The role will require flexibility to work across different time zones.
What you will do
If successful, you will take a leading role in developing and implementing process engineering improvement ideas for polyolefins and elastomer finishing processes including extrusion, pelletization, solids handling, devolatization, wet rubber finishing, and packaging operations. You will establish robust tools for polymer sites to identify and advance improvement ideas for their finishing units, prioritize projects, and support business decisions. We are expanding our group's expertise in finishing process technology, such as polyolefins finishing and elastomer finishing, finishing process optimization, and the use of tools like process simulation/modeling to enhance the finishing process. We are looking for minimum of five years experienced individuals who will play a key role in the process engineering related task.
Key deliverables include:
- Work in a supportive and collaborative environment focused on delivering value to the business
- Develop robust tools for process modeling / optimizations to meet various business needs.
- Enhance the efficiency and reliability of polyolefins/elastomer finishing processes.
- Support manufacturing assets improvement activities including but not limited to development of design basis and lead/support manufacturing trials
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and initiate sustainable implementations.
- Stay current with developments in process simulation tools and seek new solutions to enhance profitability.
- Influence decision-making by introducing new ideas, enhancements, and improvements to existing finishing processes.
- Mentor and develop young engineers.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering, with relevant experience in polyolefins or elastomers finishing process manufacturing.
- Be able to demonstrate the following:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
o Innovative and analytical thinking
o Intellectual rigor, strong drive, and desire to improve processes
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural global team
- Possess a minimum of five years' experience in polyolefins or elastomers finishing processes.
- Skilled in identifying opportunities within existing process conditions and implementing improvement ideas.
- Have an in-depth understanding of fundamental polyolefins/elastomer finishing process engineering and troubleshooting.
- Ability to handle workload efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and adapting to shifting priorities
Preference will be given to those with the following additional skills / abilities:
- Hands-on experiences in process modelling / simulation tools
