What role you will play in our team
The role requires an individual to be able to understand infrastructure needs, select appropriate products and develop practical processes to meet those needs, and certify the solutions for deployment in ExxonMobil’s production environment.
The role is based in Menara ExxonMobil, Kuala Lumpur.
What you will do
- Provide engineering and technical support on infrastructure solutions.
- Proactively build, implement, and operate services to enable reliable business capabilities based on the Microsoft Windows Server and its supporting ecosystem.
- Assist with capacity planning and management and make recommendations for strategic decisions.
- Lead/participate in hardware and software certification activities
- Identify and give recommendation on how emerging technology can be implemented while adhering to industry standard practices.
- Lead, collaborate with principals, vendors and internal groups conducting Proof of Concept (POC) in evaluating appropriate solutions for business needs.
- Lead technical escalation of problem troubleshooting with internal and external groups of support.
- Develop and design automated solutions for related processes
The candidate needs to have the ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong technical knowledge.
Role requires rotational on-call support during evenings and weekends.
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other recognized academic qualifications in IT-related fields with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- Base Technical
o Broad Infrastructure background (servers, storage, network, etc.)
o Windows and/or LINUX OS experience and knowledge
o Service Now/Ticketing
o Operations Support Tools (DATADOG, SCOM, MOOG)
o Network fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting)
o Able to troubleshoot infrastructure and application integration issues from tickets, email, or phone calls with end users
o Able to design, implement, document, maintain procedures, tools, applications, and utilities in support of the lab and production environment.
- Server Specific
o Ability to design, implement, document, and maintain complex integrated Storage systems including Dell EMC/NetApp SAN/NAS product and Cloud Storage (Azure/AWS)
o Working knowledge of Operating Systems Windows & Linux (required) including Active Directory, Hypervisors (Wmware/Hyper-V) and other Operations Support Tools.
o Working knowledge (required) or advanced skills (preferred) with one or more of the following: Containers (Open Shift, Dockers and Kubernetes), Storage arrays (SAN/NAS), NetApp ONTAP and Dell (OneFS, PowerMax ECS) storage cluster administration.
o Working knowledge (required) in at least two of following scripting language to maintain infrastructure automation product and configuration, such as: Ansible, Puppet, PowerShell, JavaScript, Python and UNIX/Windows scripting.
o Familiarity with Storage management software (application for managing on-prem and cloud storage clusters and arrays) such as NetApp System Manager, Cloud Manager, Cloud Insight, Active IQ, Dell Solutions Enabler, SMI-S, Unisphere and Powerpath.
- Fluent spoken/written English and strong technical writing
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-tasks and manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities
- Team player, work effectively as part of a global team; Able to be productive when working asynchronously with colleagues from around the world and exhibit willingness to help others
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and processes
- Self-starter and self-motivated
o Work with minimal direction and flexible structure
o Work in an unstructured environment to identify the steps required and best path to take to achieve project objectives
