Facilities Integrity Engineer

Job Role Summary

  • Ensure delivery of workflow solutions in direct support of business objectives.
  • Able to interpret pressure equipment inspection reports to assess corrosion control program effectiveness and offer recommendations.
  • Able to consolidate information on multiple inspection reports into a single representative assessment for a corrosion circuit or process system.
  • Able to lead the development or revision of equipment strategies and Risk-Based Inspection scheme for pressure equipment.
  • Able to conduct or direct fitness‐for‐service assessments Level 1 or Level 2 API 579 and recommend appropriate monitoring or repair.
  • Interact with the Asset Level team and Common Skills Centre as a technical peer.
  • Coordinate monthly facility integrity performance teleconferences with the Asset Leadership Team staff. The key topics discussed will be executed inspections, available reports, analysis completed, and recommendations developed.
  • Capturing, issuing and stewarding to closure, minutes and action items from the monthly teleconference.

Expected Level of Proficiency

  • Bachelor of Engineering or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 3 years’ experience in the upstream/petrochemical/chemical industry, a refinery or a similar industry is preferred.
  • Have previous hands-on practical experience in evaluating inspection reports both from visual and/or non-destructive testing (NDT) and providing fit-for-risk assessment and recommendations.
  • Have working knowledge of most conventional or more advanced method of NDT.
  • Have experience in using API 579 Fitness For Service tools.
  • Familiar with API 510, API 570 and API 653 practice codes.
  • Familiar with ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1 and Division 2 codes.
  • Familiar with scope of applicability of ASME B31.3 and B16.5.
  • Able to describe basic concepts and limitations of chemical inhibition and understand the application for various chemicals.
  • Able to demonstrate basic concepts of metallurgy, corrosion/erosion theory, and modes of failure.
  • Able to constructively engage and influence as part of the technical team.
  • Able to interact effectively with the Asset Leadership Team staff.
  • Able to relate technical issues directly to Business and Safety, Health & Environmental impacts
