Engineer, Geoscientist, Technologist (Upstream)

Position What you will be doing What you should have
Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (ICE)
  • Manage the systems contractors for base plant support, as well as maintain and upgrade the process control system to the latest recommended option.
  • Analyze system failures and change recommendations.
  • Lead and support systems for the relevant projects.
  • Manage the security and controls of the process control systems as per ICSR requirement.
  • Degree in Engineering (various disciplines) or Computer Science, preferably with at least 5 years of experience in managing the Distributed Control System.
  • Working knowledge in a server / client environment, Microsoft technology  (Windows Server Network infrastructure, SQL), Local Area Network (LAN) and Cisco routers and switches.
  • Knowledge and experience in Honeywell DCS (distributed control systems) – installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining Experion or TDC-3000/TPS control systems.
Facilities Engineer
  • Oversee / manages design, operations and maintenance of various production and utility systems in offshore environment, including safe separation / stabilization, treatment and transportation of hydrocarbon.
  • Offshore equipment maintenance / process optimization / risk management.
  • Degree in Engineering (various disciplines), preferably with 3 years experience in oil and gas.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of process systems and related equipment such as pumps, compressors and power systems.
Drilling and Completions Engineer
  • Provide engineering support and daily surveillance for rig mobilization / demobilization, drilling and completions operations including budget preparation / stewardship and contract administration.
  • Work with reservoir engineers and geologists to support preparation and deliverables of Field Development Plans (FDP), and provide well-site drilling or completions surveillance and engineering support as necessary.
  • Degree in Engineering (various disciplines), preferably with 5 years of relevant experience in drilling and completions engineering.
  • Willingness and able to travel to offshore locations to provide wellsite support.
Reservoir Engineer
  • Analyze and predict field and well performance to estimate reserves, predict reservoir performance and optimize reservoir management strategies, develop depletion plans, and perform economic analysis.
  • Ensure that wellbore hydraulic models are accurate, updated and accessible to the Asset Level Team (ALT).
  • Identify and validate pressure data including clarification / validation of Pressure-Volume-Temperature (PVT) assumptions for fluid density and downhole parameters.
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent), preferably with 3-10 years’ experience in upstream engineering.
  • In-depth skills and knowledge in reservoir surveillance / modeling, wellbore performance modeling, and production methods for oil and natural gas recovery.
  • Familiar with any of the following:
    • Reservoir surveillance, production or hydraulic modeling tools / applications (eg. Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) suite of applications (PROSPER, GAP, MBAL).
    • Pressure analysis tools / applications (e.g. Kappa Suite).
    • Reservoir simulation fundamentals and applications (e.g. Eclipse, Petrel RE).
Subsurface Engineer
  • Provide engineering support to wellwork interventions (slickline, e-line, coil tubing), well workovers, well completions, well servicing, wireline operations, well surveillance, cost estimation, budget preparations and contract administration.
  • Maintain surveillance on well integrity and wellwork operations to ensure wellbore risk management requirements are met and coordination of wellwork schedule, including making field trips as necessary.
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent), preferably with 5 years’ experience in subsurface or wellwork engineering.
  • In-depth skills and knowledge in:
    • Petroleum engineering and wireline / workover operations.
    • Well completion design, optimization and integrity surveillance.
    • Artificial lift system and technology.
Subsurface Technologist
  • Assist reservoir and subsurface engineers with surveillance, data management, analysis, and reporting activities which may include:
    • Reservoir surveillance, well performance monitoring and test verification, identify and implement artificial lift opportunities.
    • Wellwork planning and well integrity management including coordination of critical device function tests (CDFTs).
  • Degree in an engineering, science, or technical discipline.
  • Passion for and solid skills in data management and analytics.
  • Able to influence multi-discipline teams to execute recommendations.
  • Willingness and able to travel to offshore locations if required.
Geoscientist
  • Perform seismic interpretation, qualitative and quantitative attribute analysis, seismic-well ties and rock physics modeling, sequence stratigraphic and reservoir quality interpretation, well log correlation and mapping.
  • Conduct structural interpretation, faulted reservoir mapping, reservoir connectivity analysis, opportunity generation, well planning and optimization.
  • Perform hydrocarbon resource assessment as well as production data integration and interpretation.
  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Geology or Geophysics, preferably with petroleum geology experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in the earth and physical sciences and mathematics, with demonstrated experience in seismic and well-based sequence stratigraphic interpretation and mapping, including environment of deposition interpretation and reservoir property prediction.
  • Sound judgment and speed in application of geoscience tools and techniques.
Environmental Engineer
  • Identify / implement environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze environmental data, conduct trend analysis and propose improvement solutions.
  • Coordinate and perform Environmental Assessments and other periodic audit as needed.
  • An engineering degree, preferably with 3-5 years of relevant experience as Environment Engineer (or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge of the Malaysian environmental regulations, standards, codes, and practices related to oil and gas industry.
  • Willingness and able to travel to offshore locations to provide onsite support.
Process Safety / Risk Engineer
  • Lead and participate in Operations, Engineering and Project Risk Assessments, including incident investigations and develop actions plans to prevent occurrence.
  • Provide oversight on safety-related studies, and coordinate and steward processes involving risk management in accordance with ExxonMobil Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS).
  • An engineering degree, preferably with 3-5 years of relevant experience in Process Safety, Loss Prevention or Risk Management.
  • Willingness and able to travel to offshore locations to provide onsite support.
  • Strong technical competencies in safety and good interpersonal and communication skills.
