Petroleum Measurement Center of Expertise

Position title What you will be doing What you should have
Quality Assurance & Data Integrity Assurance Framework (DIAF) Engineer
  • Provide laboratory quality assurance-related technical leadership, execution and operational support for global business functions and projects
  • Support laboratory quality assurance and data integrity practices for the determination of product quantity and quality through collection and analysis of data / key performance indicators, identifying bad actors and assisting the business to develop and implement resolution plans
  • Collaborate across the organization to ensure alignment on laboratory practices and operational quality assurance goals, and synergize with external parties such as industry groups, manufacturers and suppliers in providing ExxonMobil’s input / perspective in the development or enhancement of standards
  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Preferably with 8-10 years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical or refining industry, especially in the laboratory quality assurance and data integrity practices. However, fresh graduates may also apply
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Laboratory Quality / Data Integrity assurance practices
    • Regulatory and industry standards (e.g. API MPMS, ASTM, AGA, GPA)
Petroleum Measurement Engineer

Chemical Engineering

Position title What you will be doing What you should have
Chemical Engineer
  • Build technical decision-making process at chemical manufacturing sites, including using models for equipment performance and trend analysis
  • Process monitoring of equipment such as distillation towers, heat exchangers, compressors and furnaces
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge or experience in process simulation tools such as PROII or HYSYS will be an advantage
Offline Optimization Engineer
  • Build, maintain and improve fundamental process models and linear program models of steam cracking / refining units
  • Develop, maintain, implement and improve ancillary toolsets such as reporting, results analysis and model validation tools across ExxonMobil sites to enable optimal selection of chemical feedstocks as well as key operating conditions
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the petrochemical or refining industry:
    • Process modeling practices
    • Off-line or on-line optimization models for large scale refining / chemicals optimization
    • ROMeo or PIMS modeling and optimization platforms
Process Safety Engineer
  • Provide process safety engineering expertise for ExxonMobil’s Upstream and Downstream assets and projects
  • Facilitate Risk Assessment and Process Hazard Analysis and conduct process safety studies including dispersion modelling
  • Support continuous improvement of ExxonMobil process safety standards, tools and practices
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Preferably with 2 years of experience or more in:
    • Process design / process safety engineering
    • Hazard identification, risk analyses and assessment methodologies

 

 

Mechanical Engineering

Position title What you will be doing What you should have
Equipment Strategy / Reliability Engineer
  • Develop plans and strategy for base equipment and projects including technical specifications
  • Drive quality and provide recommendations for equipment reliability using the Swim Lane, CREDO and Credible Failure Mode (CFM) processes
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant experience in the upstream, petrochemical, chemical, refinery or similar industry

Petroleum Engineering

Reservoir Engineer
  • Collaborate remotely with global asset teams to enhance hydrocarbon production and reservoir management through reservoir and well performance analysis
  • Analyze well and field data to establish trends, recognize deviations, and identify data quality issues
  • Integrate with adjacent disciplines – facilities, wells, research, development & IT teams to improve processes
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical operating parameters through data and trend analysis
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Production / hydraulic modeling with the Integrated Production Modeling (IPM) Suite
    • Pressure analysis with the Kappa Suite of Applications (Saphir)
    • Macro development with Python / VBA / SQL
    • Data visualization tools with such as Power BI

 

Hybrid Disciplines

Position title What you will be doing What you should have
Process Control Application Engineer
  • Develop and implement basic regulatory and advanced control applications at ExxonMobil refineries and chemical facilities worldwide
  • Develop and apply tools and techniques to improve the effectiveness of process control applications
  • Provide global technical expertise to ExxonMobil refineries, chemicals and upstream facilities globally on base and advanced control applications and support for capital projects
  • Degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in designing and implementing effective control applications in downstream refining, petrochemical industry or upstream facilities
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Distributed Control System (DCS) software and hardware platforms (Honeywell TDC/EPKS, Yokogawa, Emerson, Schneider, ABB etc.)
    • Model predictive control software (AspenTech DMC or similar platforms)
    • Programming languages (VB, Matlab, Python, SQL)
    • Data analytics and visualization (SeeQ, JMP, Tableau, Power BI)
    • Steady State and Dynamic Simulation Tools (HySys, Unisim, DynSim)
Control Systems Engineer
  • Design infrastructure, integrate applications and provide support for a managed set of control systems technologies used at ExxonMobil manufacturing sites globally
  • Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and maintain distributed control systems such as Honeywell Experion and Total Distributed Control (TDC)
  • Design interfaces between various industrial systems such as Distributed Control System (DCS), process analyzers, tank gauging, Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and Safety Systems using protocols such as Modbus and OLE Process Control (OPC)
  • Participate in the research and development of new infrastructure and application technologies including vulnerability assessment and suitability analysis
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science / IT or equivalent
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following:
    • Industrial control systems design or automation projects in the upstream, petrochemical, chemical, refinery or similar industry
    • Compiled programming languages (VBscript, PowerShell, VB.Net etc.)
    • Ethernet networking, Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and server virtualization
    • Process historian, alarm management, advanced control engines (Dynamic Matrix Control - DMC, Real-time Optimization - RTO), dynamic simulators, machinery monitoring and operator guidance
