What role you will play in our team

 

We are seeking a Used Oil Analysis Lab Technician in Kansas City, KS. Technician will perform routine physical and chemical testing of used oils for customer trending purposes. The technician will be responsible for collecting analytical data while monitoring quality control and performance of instruments. Overtime may be required. Technician must be able to work off-shift hours (4:00pm-12:30am or 12:00am-8:30am).

What you will do

 

  • Be a part of the ExxonMobil culture and proactively maintain the safety and security of both yourself and your coworkers.
  • Conduct standardized physical and chemical tests using a variety of instrumentation while following our outlined procedures and quality expectations
  • Contribute to our sample receival process including opening packages, sorting mail, and data entry.
  • Work both together with your team and as an individual to perform preventative maintenance on lab equipment and maintain your assigned testing area.
  • Attend and participate in a variety of Safety, Security, Environmental, and Quality activities including waste handling, shift handovers, corrective actions, inspections, and continuous improvement activities for the site.
     

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or another applicable Applied Science.
  • Must be willing to work off-shift hours (4:00pm-12:30am or 12:00am-8:30am).

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to standards and practices working with instrumentation in a laboratory; ability to identify potential safety issues and propose solutions.
  • Strong computing skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, including flexibility to accommodate change, positive attitude, and willingness to mentor/train other personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with effective time and task management, even for repetitive tasks.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to quickly learn new tasks and integrate them into workflows; ability to meticulously follow detailed instructions and adhere to procedures.
