Job Role Responsibilities:


•Provide civil and structural engineering expertise in support of the design, construction, commissioning, start-up and operation of the ExxonMobil Huizhou Chemical Complex.
•Provide Engineering Surveillance support to Project Design Team and provide construction support to site team during civil works, applying Company and industry standards and codes.
-Able to read and interpret structural and civil drawings and specifications,
-Plans, executes and oversees inspections.
•Provide engineering skills related to the design of civil works (e.g. earthworks, paving, roads, drainage, sewers and undergrounds) and structures and foundations (e.g. machinery / equipment support structures, pipe racks, buildings, stacks and blast resistant buildings).
-Prepare/review design criteria; size/lay-out typical structures,
-Apply/interpret results of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) procedures, methods and industry software,
-Select and apply assessment methodologies (e.g., static, dynamic, fatigue); specify and evaluate materials and welding and other joining techniques,
-Conduct explosion and seismic analyses’,
-Interpret soil reports and apply soil mechanics principles for design (e.g., foundations, piling, earthworks, drainage, and undergrounds). Quantify when data is insufficient and identify necessary surveys.
-Understand weight management principles and apply it to module design, and
-Differentiate between requirements in different international standards and codes (e.g. ACI, Eurocodes).
•Provide technical support related to operating and maintaining civil and structural facilities, including structural condition assessment and evaluation, integrity management and risk based inspection, work management, inspection and repair techniques, and regulatory and code interpretation.
-Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and develop cost-effective solutions to eliminate or manage risks. Leverage tools to prioritize risks and progress risk reduction actions.

Required Skills and Knowledge:


•Bachelor degree or above in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
•Minimum of 10 years working experience related to Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or equivalent industry or engineering design institute, with experience and knowledge of applicable design codes and standards across areas such as:
-Key concepts, principles and methods in structural engineering, including foundation analysis and design methodologies and tools,
-Soils mechanics/properties and impact on earthworks, undergrounds and foundation design and analysis,
-Paving and roadway analysis and design methodologies; drainage and underground analysis and design methodologies and tools,
-Basic fabrication and QA/QC procedures as well as fabrication and installation costing; differences between stick-build and modular structures,
-Load cases and methodology for developing design loads (e.g., wind, seismic, blast, operating, transport) and necessary surveys required to develop environmental loading demands,
-Common structural materials (e.g. steel and concrete) and issues/concerns, corrosion and corrosion protection concepts (e.g., structural steel materials, welding processes, CP, coating types, toughness requirements),
-Plant building types such as administration, warehousing and technical (e.g., substations, control rooms, shelters), and
-Approaches and equipment for executing civil works, common structures and basic installation procedures.
•Experience in design and construction of large-scale onshore or offshore facilities is an advantage.
•Experience in international projects, multi-national company (MNC), Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise (WOFE) or JV is an advantage.
•Effective team player.
•Fluent in speaking and writing English.
•Willingness for 1-2 year’s short-term relocation, if required.
