What you will do

 

•    Responsible to provide mechanical integrity engineering expertise (both engineering and inspection of static equipment) in support of the design, construction, commissioning, start-up and operation of the platform.

•    Provide mechanical integrity engineering support to the Platform Maintenance and Operations teams and collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines (machinery, instrumentation, reliability, etc.) in support of plant commissioning and start-up

•    This position will obtain work direction from the Mechanical Integrity Lead.
 

 

About you

 

•    Responsibilities includes engineering assessment, engineering design, trouble-shooting and root cause failure analysis of static equipment and all start-up related activities.
•    Provide asset support for static equipment which includes develop and/or review maintenance and commissioning and start-up procedures, quality technical expertise for all static equipment during fabrication, installation, construction, commissioning and start-up. This includes but not limited to storage tanks & spheres, pressure vessels, piping and valve systems, heat exchangers, fluid solids equipment etc., 
•    Review of higher risk maintenance activities for static equipment on an engineering perspective eg. hot tap, stopple, clamps etc., 
•    Work with the project QAQC team to define any quality requirements on any special static equipment (eg; LDPE high pressure connections/vessel) including hold points to achieve a leak-free start-up in the respective assigned platforms.
•    Plan and work with contract inspectors to carry out fixed equipment/piping inspection as per site baseline reading strategy, review inspections completed to confirm appropriate tasks consistent with inspection technique and maintain Inspection Data Management system and filing system, including periodic updates.
•    Develop and review health of Mechanical Integrity programs and provide appropriate recommendations, mitigations (on-stream or during shutdown) and timely updates on equipment degradation problems,
•    Monitor and drive static equipment performance meeting platform start-up and operations expectations which includes analysis of equipment failures and recommending cost effective methods of repair and material selection.  
•    Support reliability initiatives and programs including resolution of bad actors, participation in (or lead) incident investigations and risk assessments.
•    Support development and updates of equipment strategies, material suitability reviews and understanding the impact of equipment sparing, redundancy, reliability, availability, maintainability, and maintenance cost in support of operations excellence 
•    Provide engineering support for modifications to static equipment and new installations, including reviewing and approving changes, developing engineering specifications/requirements, conducting or participating in design reviews, and supporting testing and commissioning.
•    Participate in activities related to safety and risk assessment and in safety incident investigations related to static equipment, and
•    Support any start-up critical projects by developing project design specifications for static equipment scope, providing surveillance on contractor and vendor designs and deliverables, provide advice and assist in testing, commissioning and start-up.
•    Monitor and apply the latest developments in inspection/material and corrosion technology.
