Logistics & Distribution Advisor

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe/efficient/effective management of day to day logistics operations performed by Company personnel or third parties.
  • Provide leadership to SC L&D team in day to day operations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Ensure employees and logistics service providers are compliant with ExxonMobil practices, including OIMS, Business Controls, and SSHE guidance.
  • Provide oversight to logistics intermodal movements for HCC production.
  • Develop and execute the Container Assurance Program for smooth operations of HCC site.
  • Participate in third-party contract negotiations/renewals and coordinate change management relating to contract changes.
  • Build productive relationships with key external parties (logistics service providers, shipping lines and freight forwarders) to support high quality operations and prompt issues handling.
  • Drive consistent Operations best practices and develop supply chain functional expertise across common groups.
  • Optimize and streamline common work process interfaces within function and across support groups (i.e. Customer Service / Procurement / etc.) in the General Interest.
  • Develop and implement Logistics efficiency improvement plans (payload improvement, operational/staffing efficiencies etc.)
  • Key interface between HCC manufacturing and Supply Chain & GBU Business Team to align on priorities.
  • Support development of China-1 logistics and distribution framework.
  • Lead establishments of key contracts with vendors to be ready for startup – trucking, Domestic container shipping, Container yard storage, freight forwarding etc.
  • Establish appropriate governance and stewardship mechanisms with key vendors.
  • Develop and implement L&D systems and work processes for China-1 Outbound activities.
  • Work with base business to develop startup logistics testing and operational plans.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in Engineering.
  • Work experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain, OIMS , Business Control, Trade Regulation, GPQMS (Global Product Quality Mgt System), CFB (Customer Feedback) etc.
  • Good interpersonal skills to effectively interface with third party service providers.
  • Effective team player – have to work in cross functional teams consisting of members from service providers, site supply chain, technical engineers, quality engineers, business.
  • Self-driven and ability to influence without authority.
  • Good communication and presentation skills both in English and Chinese.
