What role you will play in our team
This is a representative description of the role of an SSHE Specialist and does not represent a specific position. SSHE Specialists not only support one or more safety, security, health, or environmental subject areas for a particular site or functional group within an affiliate but also provide a level of subject matter expertise in one or more areas. The SSHE Specialist influences the field organization without formal authority by demonstrating strong operations and/or maintenance skills, and interacting effectively with operations/manufacturing/pipeline/other field organizations. The SSHE Specialist also demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills while working with diverse groups. This job role will cover some but not all of the responsibilities listed below. Typical Job Position Titles may include: EHS Coordinator, OI Coordinator, Safety Specialist, Waste Coordinator, etc.
What you will do
- Responsible for on-duty and combat readiness of the brigade, implement relevant provisions of the detachment, and properly make firefighting and emergency rescue preparations
- Organize the brigade to get familiar with the firefighting equipment and apparatus in jurisdiction area, and master the information of water sources, roads and units within the area of responsibility
- Formulate firefighting preplan for key locations of production units and tank farms in the jurisdiction area, organize members of the brigade to carry out theoretical study and field drill of the preplan, and properly make summary, evaluation and records of the drill
- Regularly check on-duty personnel and the integrity of vehicles and equipment of the brigade, regularly carry out maintenance, carry out on-duty supervision and inspection, and timely solve the problems existing in on-duty work
- Organize to command the firefighting and emergency rescue in jurisdiction area, arrive at the scene of incident within 5 minutes after receiving fire alarm, deploy combat task in time, and carry out the firefighting and emergency rescue
- Organize the brigade to get familiar with the firefighting equipment and apparatus in jurisdiction area, and master the information of water sources, roads and units within the area of responsibility
- Organize the members of brigade to carry out firefighting and gas prevention skills and physical training
- Organize the inspection and maintenance of production equipment, safety equipment, firefighting facilities, protective equipment and first-aid equipment to keep them in good condition and in normal operation; supervise and educate the members of the brigade to use PPE properly and use firefighting equipment correctly
- Strictly abide by the company’s management regulations related to personnel safety on site (e.g. fire and explosion protection, PPE wearing, etc.), and actively intervene in unsafe acts
About you
- College degree and above in chemistry & chemical, and Safety Engineering
- Have at least 1-3 years’ working experience in firefighting in Petrochemical industry
- Experience in international projects, MNC or JV is an advantage
- Effective communication, adaption in multi-functional and culture environment
- Know the laws and regulations related to firefighting
