What role you will play in our team
This is a representative description of the role of an SSHE Specialist and does not represent a specific position. SSHE Specialists not only support one or more safety, security, health, or environmental subject areas for a particular site or functional group within an affiliate but also provide a level of subject matter expertise in one or more areas. The SSHE Specialist influences the field organization without formal authority by demonstrating strong operations and/or maintenance skills, and interacting effectively with operations/manufacturing/pipeline/other field organizations. The SSHE Specialist also demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills while working with diverse groups. This job role will cover some but not all of the responsibilities listed below. Typical Job Position Titles may include: EHS Coordinator, OI Coordinator, Safety Specialist, Waste Coordinator, etc.
What you will do
- Be focal point of SSHE function in each of Start-up Platforms (P/F, or Business Unit), provide Safety expertise and link up Security, Health and Environment resource to assist P/F Start-up team achieves SSHE excellence during pre-comm., comm. & start-up and operations.
- Assist P/F team in implementation of OIMS systems including Safety Standardization & regulatory
- Ensure P/F effectively implementing safety management systems to identify and control major hazardous source and mitigate risks to acceptable level, meet EM and regulatory requirements
- Monitor Safety performance during operation and maintenance & construction activities, intervene unsafe actions and violation of standards, feedback to P/F team for improvement
- Guide P/F team to prepare high risk activity work plan, provide Safety review of the plan, check field execution quality and intervene if unsafe situation or deviations from the plan or procedures
- Ensure P/F maintaining effective safe equipment guard or protection in place
- Contribute and/or review the development of P/F Operation Procedures (SSHE), Emergency Rescue and Response Plan, Turnaround Safety plan
- Assist P/F team in incident investigation, trend and analysis of Near Miss, Incident and root causes
- Provide guidance for P/F to develop SSHE annual plan, regulatory compliance review
- Provide safety training support to P/F team, share incidents and good practices, improve workforce risk identification and mitigation capability
- Coordinate regulatory or authority safety inspection
About you
- Diploma and Bachelor degree or above in Chemistry & Chemical or Safety Engineering
- Registered safety engineers, safety professionals, Operation or M&E supervisor or engineers with safety / risk management experiences
- Minimum 5 years work experience in Petrochemical industry with various technical or leadership role
- Have understanding of production principles and knowledge of refining and chemical enterprises, and be familiar with and have mastery of safety management tools;
- Have understanding of the relevant national laws and regulations on safety
- Have good communication and teamwork skills, be good at analyzing and solving problems
- English fluency in reading and writing
- Experiences in international projects, MNC or JV is an advantage
