What role you will play in our team
The Pilot Plant Outside Operator will responsible for routine operation including working with console operator to ensure pilot plant process be well maintained, and in a controlled of the process while following operating procedures, quality control plans, daily instructions, plant rules, government guidelines, controlling unit emissions, recording information on logs and forms; and writing work requests for repairs, in order to achieve the highest standards of operating excellence and environmental stewardship
What you will do
- 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Process contact, understand process flow, basic chemistry associated with unit.
- Process monitoring activities including taking products sample catalyst degradation, differential pressure, checking & inspection for leaks/freezing/overheating, etc.
- Work with Console Operator, adjusts the process parameters for unusual weather-related events, including freezing temperatures and hurricanes, following Operating Procedures to de-inventory and/or bleed-water systems; up to and including complete unit shutdowns to protect equipment and personnel from potential weather damage.
- Effectively communicate cross functionally to advise or warn of changing conditions, adjusts process parameters like temperature/pressure/flow rate, to maintain product specification within optimal operating window.
- Communicates well with Console operators & FLS to effectively troubleshoot abnormal conditions and promptly respond to emergency situations.
- Physically inspects and monitors equipment in responsible area using vision,hearing,smell, and touch, to ensure correct operation.
- Check and inspects control valve positions to ensure valves are correctly positioned.
- Issues Work Permit and Gas Testing, which involves high degree of proficiency on operating conditions as well as chemical、personnel and process safety risks associated with operating unitPerforms basic equipment maintenance including adding lube oil、tightening valve packing、changing filters & steam traps and housekeeping, etc.
- Participate in shift hand-offs at and other key operator communications meetings. Document all changes, exceptions, and follow-up activities for shift handover
- Participates in audits, investigations, HAZOPs and quality efforts in the areas.
- Maintains good housekeeping of equipment, control rooms, and the production areas.
- Back up of Console Operator when obsessed.
About you
- College or above in chemical engineering / process or related major.
- Familiar with a wide range of refinery or chemical plant processes, equipment, and procedures.
- At least three years refinery or chemical plant experience with both technical and operations knowledge
- Preferred to have experience in Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up in PP process
- Experienced Safety training courses, including inherent SHE/ Risk Assessment & Management/HAZOP & HAZAM/Incident Investigation
- Self-confident and self-motivated.
- Able to work effectively as a team member.
- Communicates effectively at all levels, from plant operator to upper management.
- Prepares concise briefing presentations and technical reports. Delivers them with confidence and conviction.
- Ability to discuss new operating permits with authorities and preserve ExxonMobil interest.
