What role you will play in our team

 

The Pilot Plant FLS will be responsible for Operation Risk Management Day-to-day operability and Compliance with Pilot Plant and DTC systems. Support and report to the Pilot Plant SLS, control and manage the process while following operating procedures, quality control plans, daily instructions, plant rules, government guidelines, controlling unit emissions. Review and manage information on logs、 forms and MOCs, in order to achieve the highest standards of operating excellence and safety & environmental stewardship.

 

What you will do

 

  • Provide specialist consulting service in both Safety and Operation of pilot plants.
  • 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fills in for the Pilot Plant Section Supervisor in his / her absence.
  • Unit shift team resource, responsible for discipline on their shift. 
  • Holds “Tool Box” Meetings to communicate safety, operability, and administrative items with all personnel on the shift. Coordinate the work order backlog based on input from the unit teams.
  • Lead to monitor production and equipment operations during actual production runs. Communicates well with all the shift to effectively troubleshoot abnormal conditions and promptly respond to emergency situations. 
  • Responsible for handling the scheduling of Pilot Plant resource needs. 
  • Training and certification of Personnel. Shift cross-training plans are carried out as per planned.
  • Interfacing with Mechanical and Services for maintenance required on their shift.
  • Monitoring routine operation consumables like PPE, and assist in raw materials logistics (Hexane, Hexene, etc.). Coordinate raw material inventories, procurement, receipt and entry into database.
  • Performance assessment, counselling, and career development for the shift/area they work with.
  • Responsible for purchasing for Pilot Plant operations and procuring materials or services needed on their shift.
  • Leads area safety and housekeeping, leads tours when applicable to their area.
  • Leader during startups, shutdowns, inter-program transitions, and when priorities between teams must be managed.
  • Interface with the Chemical Plant Superintendent
  • Approver of MOC, field inspection, participates in MOC preparation meetings. Verifies adequate completion of all changes before allowing them to be placed into service. 
  • Emergency Response Team chief during off-hours (holidays, weekends and 6:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. daily).
  • Conducts LPS FLS responsibilities including LPSA touches, LPO and JLA scheduling and feedback sessions, and stewardship meetings.
  • Maintain focus on chemical storage by ensuring maximum allowable flammable and combustible inventories are maintained.
  • Responsible for site events including audits, investigations, HAZOPs, OIMS IA&EA, ensures these items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in Process Technician development

About you

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering / process or related major.
  • Supervisor experience in PP process is preferred, familiar with a wide range of refinery or chemical plant processes, equipment and procedures.
  • At least eight years refinery or chemical plant experience with both technical and operations knowledge
  • Two years of pilot plant experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting is preferred.
  • Experience in Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up in PP is an advantage.
  • Excellent safety, quality assurance awareness and communication skills.
  • Experienced and qualified of safety training courses, including inherent SHE/ Risk Assessment & Management/HAZOP & HAZAM/Incident Investigation
