What role you will play in our team

 

The role of an Operations Technician is to provide the functional, day-to-day support and surveillance of unit operating equipment. The Operations Technician must master an effective working knowledge of safe work practices, essential preventative and mitigative safeguards applicable to their assigned unit, potential process hazards and their effective barriers, emergency response procedures, and key operating envelopes for their equipment. Operations Technicians are the front-line workers that help protect our People, Equipment, Assets, and Reputation. In addition to a strict Operations Excellence / Process Safety mindset for unit operations, Operations Technicians will often be required to safely isolate parts of the unit, prepare equipment for mechanical work, manage the potential energy, chemical, and environmental risks associated with these temporary configurations, and then safely return equipment to service in a coordinated fashion to minimize process upsets or other risks from manifesting into hazardous consequences.

What you will do

 

  • Develop thorough working knowledge of primary unit operations, safe operating limits, and control schemes
  • Develop thorough working knowledge of unit process / environmental potential hazards and safeguards that prevent / mitigate
  • Comply with safe work standards (Lock-Out / Tag-Out), Management of Change, Procedure compliance
  • Conduct assigned surveillance / sampling rounds with an Operations Excellence / Process & Personnel Safety mindset
  • May involve developing and/or executing Process Plans to prepare equipment for maintenance or returning to service
  • May include both Field and/or Console operations responsibility to manage / improve unit operations
  • Understand and be able to execute Emergency Response expectations across a variety of practical scenarios
  • Monitor equipment, look for unusual operations, support optimization and trouble-shooting activities

About you

 

Skills and Qualifications 

 

+    College or above in chemical engineering / process or related major.
+    Must have a level of proficiency with Microsoft programs, like SAP & LIMS. Or similar program.
+    Familiar with a wide range of refinery or chemical plant processes, equipment and procedures.
+    At least five years refinery or chemical plant experience with both technical and operations knowledge
+    At least two years of console operator experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting is preferred.
+    Experience in Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Start-up in PP is an advantage.
+    Completed or experienced Safety training courses, including inherent SHE/ Risk Assessment & Management/HAZOP & HAZAM/Incident Investigation
