What role you will play in our team

 

ExxonMobil is seeking a strategic and results-driven U.S. Payments and Loyalty Advisor to join our U.S. Retail Fuels Marketing team. This role is responsible for leading the payments marketing strategy and loyalty integration across the U.S. retail fuels business. The successful candidate will drive innovation, optimize customer experience, and manage key partnerships to support long-term business growth.

What you will do

 

  • Own the U.S. payments marketing strategy, including the 5-Year Strategic Marketing Plan (5YMP) and program roadmaps.
  • Serve as the payments lead for Planning & Budgeting (P&B), including volume, operating expenses (opex), and cost of sales.
  • Advocate for necessary resources to support payments and loyalty initiatives.
  • Lead execution and oversight of 1-Year Strategic Marketing Plan (1YSMP) initiatives and targets aligned with 5YMP and Retail Business Unit (RBU) / channel priorities.
  • Oversee Managed Service Provider (MSP) execution of 1YSMP initiatives, campaigns, and offer tactics.
  • Guide strategic relationship management activities to ensure effective MSP execution.
  • Own and maintain relationship maps with strategic partners and key vendors.
  • Act as the point of escalation for issue resolution and strategic alignment.
  • Represent ExxonMobil as the strategic lead in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with partners and vendors.
  • Drive business development efforts with existing and new partners to expand payment and loyalty capabilities.
  • Oversee project activities and serve as a key stakeholder or representative across cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support collaboration between the Payments team and Marcom, Loyalty, and Field Marketing teams.
  • Serve as the payments lead for Consumer Journey and Consumer Experience initiatives.
  • Act as the strategic and planning interface with the Payments Loyalty Solutions and Operations team on payment-related offers and solutions.
  • Play a leadership role in deepening the integration of payments and loyalty, ensuring seamless customer experiences and aligned strategic goals.

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in payments, loyalty, marketing strategy, or strategic partnerships.
  • Experienced marketing professional with a strong understanding of the retail fuels business, consumer marketing, and payments landscape.
  • Strong interpersonal, commercial, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence through others and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and managing customer conflict while balancing business priorities.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical abilities and sound business judgment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10–25% as required.

 

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

 

  • Experience in the energy, retail, or consumer goods sectors is an asset.
