About Houston
ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team
The Synthetics Technical Sales Representative is responsible for the profitable growth and defense of the ExxonMobil synthetics base stocks across the lubricant blender industry and other emerging applications. Our success is built on strong partnerships with distributors and direct accounts. We are looking for a dynamic team player to maintain and grow book of customers through account development, technical consultation, and collaborative customer engagement. You will serve as a trusted advisor and coach to customers and partners as you grow the ExxonMobil brand and market position.
What you will do
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow synthetic base stock sales - customer base includes direct and may include distributor third party accounts
- Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas
- Fully leverage Salesforce to enable pipeline management, account activity and management
- Deliver technical value through high performance synthetic base stock recommendations, differentiated services, and other solutions
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
- Deliver impactful presentations, training sessions, and technical support to distributor teams or direct accounts
- Partner with internal teams (marketing, supply chain, technical) to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies
- Monitor account and portfolio performance, evaluate KPIs, and implement improvement initiatives
About you
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must live in or be flexible for relocation to Houston, TX - expectation for regular office attendance in Spring, TX
- Ability to travel 25-40% of the time
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial), Chemistry or related field preferred
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Highly organized with excellent follow-up capability and multi-tasking ability
- Strong problem-solving, technical acumen and analytical thinking capabilities
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning and adapting in dynamic environments
- Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in lubricants, base oils, or chemicals
- Proven success in distributor and channel sales and national account management.
- Strong technical understanding of lubricant applications, tribology, and fluid performance
- Proven selling, persuasion and influence skills
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite
