Required Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

Bachelors, Masters and MBAs with proficiency in relevant areas, such as financial analysis, accounting, corporate finance, data analytics, international business

Proven record of initiative, leadership, and academic achievement

Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills

Attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

ExxonMobil’s financial organization offers a number of Financial/Business Analysis internships for exceptional candidates each year. The intern program is designed to provide an opportunity for the candidate to assess ExxonMobil as a future employer and for ExxonMobil to assess candidate skills and long term career fit.  Key objectives of the intern assignments are to test analytical skills along with leadership and teamwork abilities while providing exposure to our global operations and culture. 
Our senior financial management directly oversees the internship program and has a high level of interaction with interns throughout the summer.  Interns are assigned projects selected from an existing portfolio of work activities – each carrying an expectation of adding value to the organization. Projects include:

Controller’s - a variety of areas such as business / operations analysis, financial reporting, and/or financial controls

Treasurer’s - cash management, intercompany financing, capital structure optimization, economic analysis, project valuations and customer credit management

Tax - Federal Income Tax Compliance, State Income Tax Compliance and Audit, Indirect Tax, and Property Tax
Intern assignments typically last about 3 months commencing in the May/June timeframe.  Controller’s and Tax assignments are based in Houston. Treasurer’s positions involve a six week assignment in the corporate headquarters in Dallas, and a similar length assignment in a Houston-based business unit.
