Procurement Process Specialist

Job Role Summary

The Procurement Process Specialist, has the overall responsibility to support the Procurement organization to identify and recommend opportunities for efficiency and process effectiveness. In addition, the Process Specialist will produce / manage benchmarking activities, internal customer surveys, and P2P reseach and competitive intelligence. 

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct comparative analyses and market research in the Procurement / Purchase to Pay (P2P) space
  • Develop analyses and provides or presents business research / intelligence on comparative trends impacting efficiency and effectiveness including strategic drivers; future directions; and other organizations' P2P strategies, processes, and activities
  • Work with leadership to identify gaps and define potential opportunities based on emerging trends in P2P, internal customer surveys, or external benchmarking data
  • Develop surveys, interviews, and studies that can be conducted with either external partners or internally
  • Conduct internal customer surveys, analyzes all data types, presents results and trends, make recommendations for action
  • Develop mechanisms to deliver information, including comparison grids, competitive profiles/snapshots and dashboards
  • Analyze and package quantitative and qualitative information for distribution
  • Construct and execute improvements to team’s SharePoint sites and pages

Job Requirements

  • BS, MBA, MS in either Engineering or Supply Chain
  • Strong business acumen and advanced knowledge of Procurement or Purchase to Pay processes
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Experience in process analysis and measurement
  • Experience analyzing structured and unstructed data
  • Experience in business process research
  • BS, MBA, MS in Engineering, Supply Chain, or other applicable business degrees
  • Strong analytical, leadership, negotiation and communication skills
  • A minimum of 8 years of contracting experience is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of upstream procurement experience is preferred

Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Experience in Procurement or Purchase to Pay process analysis, measurement, and or design
  • Experience with data analysis, including statistical/analytics packages
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative (e.g. surveys, statistical packages) research methods
  • Experience in researching best practices, identifying tends, and making recommendations based on those findings
  • Succinct and effective written communications via email, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Word
  • Ability to work with senior leadership and deliver recommendations
  • Ability to formulate, analyze, and produce visualizations from complex data sets, create effective presentations
  • Ability to exercise initiative, and to manage and complete multiple priorities
  • Teamwork and collaboration
