Job Role Summary

The Planning & Scheduling Engineer (P&SE) is a specialist in project schedule development, benchmark analysis, schedule control and forecasting.  The P&SE creates Level 1/2 schedules using schedule benchmarks and experiences on variety of project types.  The PS&E assesses existing schedules for usefulness, logic, level of detail, input sources, timing, lines of communication, and interfaces with other functional elements and consistency with Current Control Estimate, WBS, and the Project Plan.  The P&SE also establishes the schedule requirements and frequencies of issue for all of the contractor schedule deliverables.  The P&SE strives for timely detection of trends and plan deviations, with the capability to develop/review corrective actions and recovery plans.

Job Role Responsibilities

• Provides overall project schedule, progress measurement, and change management leadership
– Maintain close liaison with members of the Project Services organization
– Develop / Maintain Level 1 and Level 2 integrated project schedules
• Supports Project Team with ongoing project progress measurement and schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and Change Management
– Stewards contractor scheduling practices and progress measurement system
– Stewards contractor development of Contract Control Schedules and Milestones
– Stewards integration of subcontractors schedules and progress measurement system
– Stewards contractor performance vs. approved baseline schedule to assist management in identification of issues and development / implementation of corrective actions or recovery plans
– Analyze progress, schedule trends, and develop forecasts to support management decision making
– Monitor and report on schedule implications of changes
– Participate in contract bid evaluations (as required for schedule evaluation)
– Assist Project Team in developing/reviewing/implementing schedule corrective actions & recovery plans
– Provide direction and feedback on schedule development and control expectations during execution

Job Requirements


Job Requirements
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology and/or Construction Management
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in planning / scheduling for oil and gas industry projects
• Willing and able to travel to required project sites (overseas or domestic) and work in a team environment
• Strong influencing, consulting, mentoring, analytical, and computing  skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Adaptability to changing priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Working knowledge of Primavera 6 scheduling software
