Data Scientist (BS/MS/PhD)

Job Role Summary

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and sustain decision support applications in the downstream business using advanced quantitative methods
  • Use statistical analysis, machine learning, pattern recognition, and data visualization along with domain knowledge and subject-specific models to solve science, engineering, and commercial problems.
  • Ability to analyze commodity market data to develop innovative trading strategies
  • Contribute to various stages of data analytics or decision model development and deployment
  • Provide technical support and enhancements to affiliates worldwide for deployed applications.
  • Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis
  • Position may require moderate travel (domestic and/or international).

Expected Level Of Proficiency

  • BS/MS/PhD in a relevant discipline for example:  Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Math or other Science disciplines
  • Individuals with experience in developing quantitative methods for commodity trading are highly encouraged to submit applications
  • Expert in advanced modelling with outstanding programming skills (e.g. R, Python)
  • Advanced knowledge of numerical methods for linear algebra and optimization hypothesis testing, regression, time series analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, clustering, and classification
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an agile and collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenging data science problems by developing novel and/or adapting existing computational methods
