Corporate Risk Management - Insurance Advisor

Job Role Summary

The Insurance Advisor role, which is part of the Risk Management & Insurance group in the Treasurer’s Department, is responsible for providing insurance advice and risk management services to the Corporation and its affiliates around the world. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Arrange insurance solutions for affiliates and joint ventures around the world, consistent with the company’s risk management and insurance philosophy
  • Support underwriting and operational activities for the Corporation’s wholly-owned captive insurance companies
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with insurance brokers and other third-party service providers
  • Bring market and technical knowledge to bear on corporate and affiliate insurance operations
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, contractual obligations and internal controls
  • Apply global best practices and promote continuous improvement in all areas
  • Provide guidance to affiliates on principles relating to risk management
  • Collaborate with business units on the resolution of insurance claims and recoveries
  • Steward key performance indicators and metrics for areas of responsibility

 

Demonstrated performance may lead to opportunities for expanded responsibilities and leadership roles. 

Minimum Requirements & Preferred Skills, Abilities and Knowledge

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CPCU, Chartered Insurance Institute, or similar professional designation
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards

 

Preferred Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

 

  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance
  • Excellent administrative and organizational competencies, with careful attention to detail
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time to ExxonMobil operations worldwide
  • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven record of initiative and leadership; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people across multiple countries and cultures
  • Commercial outward-looking perspective
