Pre-employment Testing Requirements

This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing.  Both experience and entry-level candidates are strongly encouraged to apply; prior experience in the oil and gas industry is not a pre-requisite.   1. Appicants who have previously taken Phase I or II of the pre-employment assessment and did not meet the minimum requirement (pass) are not eligible for consideration and will be automatically disqualified.

Job Role Summary

ExxonMobil is currently seeking personnel to operate its plant facilities at its future Gulf Coast Growth Venture site located in the Gregory, TX area.


Location: Successful candidates will be hired initially to work temporarily at one of the ExxonMobil Chemical Plants, but will be subsequently assigned to a permanent position at the future Gulf Coast Growth Ventrue facility in Gregory, TX.


Important Consideration for Candidates:

Candidates should apply if they are willing and able to:

  1. Accept an initial temporary assignment at an ExxonMobil plant (Baytown, Mont Belvieu or Beaumont) for training, knowledge attainment of ExxonMobil units, procedures, procesess, system, etc.
  2. Accept a subsequent permanent assignment at the future Gulf Coast Growth Venture facility at the time of startup or earlier.
  3. Live in temporary housing while working at the plant with some financial assistance from ExxonMobil.
  4. Work for a company that values strong job performance with periodic assessments.

Primary Job Functions

  • Develop analyzer equipment repair job scopes, procedures, safety and execution plans
  • Ensure compliance of applicable Safety Standards and procedures
  • Assume Permit Receiver responsibilities
  • Perform Job Loss Analysis for each job
  • Troubleshoot, repair and/or overhaul all types of I/E equipment
  • Validate equipment repair procedures or work specifications
  • Engage in good housekeeping in work areas
  • Repair (shop repaired) spare parts and return to stores
  • Enter equipment repair history and close out Work Orders
  • Update repair procedures
  • Update equipment Technical Data
  • Identify and initiate modifications to improve equipment reliability and safety

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated prior relevant work experience or education is preferred
  • Proficient in troubleshooting analyzer systems
  • Familiarity with Plant Area Classifications and Safety Critical PM Program
  • Experience with the following:
    • Advance Optichrom
    • Hach (TOC, Dissolved Oxygen)
    • Siemens Maxum II Chromatograph (TCD, FID, FPD)
    • Emerson Cascades5100 CEMs
    • Servomex 2200 (Paraamgnetic)
    • Endress+Hauser CM42 (pH, Conductivity)
    • NEO LaserGas 2 (TDL)
  • Proficient in reading and understanding:
    • P&IDs, Knowledge of Chemistry, Knowledge of Chromatography
