What role you will play in our team
ExxonMobil is currently seeking an Electrical Technician to support and maintain the facilities at Gulf Coast Growth Venture site located in the Gregory, TX area.
What you will do
- Perform electrical testing services on power apparatus, substations, and switchgear included (but not limited to) the following:
- Protective relays and relaying systems
- Circuit breakers
- Power transformers
- Current and potential transformers
- Meters, transducers, and power system metering
- Power Cables
- Grounding Systems
- Motors and Motor Starters
- Station Batteries and Chargers
- Alarm Systems and Annunciators
- Uninterruptable Power Supply systems
- Motor Operated Valves
- Document services provided, problems found, and corrective action taken or recommended to complete mechanical repairs
- Lays out, assembles, installs, tests, repairs and adjusts electrical fixtures, equipment, wiring including panels, breakers, and conduit
About you
Skills and Qualifications
- Preferred 5 years of experience as an electrician in the petrochemical industry (chemical plant, refinery, etc.)
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship, craft training program or trade school, or military craft training program
- Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting skills, decision making skills, problem analysis and conflict management skills, particularly in pressure situations
- Experience with the following is desired:
- Power Distribution Switching (138 kV systems and below)
- Medium Voltage Swithgear troubleshooting and repair
- Electrical Testing (PDMA, Hi-Potential, Insulation Integrity, Partial Discharge, etc.)
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC and applicable OSHA standards
- Transformer Maintenance and Testing
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Uninterrupted Power Sources (UPS systems)
- Protective Relay Testing
- Auot-Transfers Schemes
- Infrared Testing on Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Electrical Area Classification
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
- Proficient in reading and understanding electrical diagrams and technical manuals
