What you will do

 

  • Manage the Fife Ethylene Plant (FEP) project construction group with respect to typical HR supervisory responsibilities
  • Coordinate all FEP project construction activities through the project field superintendents, SSHE advisor and project scheduler
  • The FEP construction superintendent is the Execution Contract Field Coordinator for the incumbent project contractor. Managing, contractor safety for all contractors working within their area of responsibility
  • Ensures ExxonMobil and contractor plans are developed, adequately resourced with competent personnel and implemented for each project with regard to timeliness of execution within the project objectives of safety, quality, schedule and budget. 
  • Develops and maintains sound interface relationships between individual contractors and sub-contractors and between contractors/sub-contractors and other Site departments.
  • Establish and maintains adequate communications and controls within the project team, including the engineering/construction interface.  This shall include confirmation that the contractor/sub-contractor has received all necessary information (e.g. Engineering and SHE) and the project SHE Plan.
  • Appraise the level of SSHE engagement achieved by the workforce using Loss Prevention System  tools and initiating coaching as required.
  • Reviews the construction contractor’s implementation of site security, fire protection, safety regulations and project SSHE Plan requirements.
  • Identifies problem areas in project execution and provide resource as appropriate to support the project team.
  • With reference to ExxonMobil Project "Job Families" establish training requirements and career development needs to maintain and enhance competency of Field Superintendents and ensure these needs are met.
  • Seeks out opportunities for improving cost effectiveness/cost reductions in all activities associated with project execution.
  • Monitors and validates the implementation of systems and procedures to ensure compliance of management controls with the Project Group and contractor organization under their control.
  • Ensures group and site management is updated of project progress through formal and informal management reporting systems.
  • Typically, the FEP construction Superintendent, assisted by the nominated Field Superintendent, will fulfil the duties of the Principal Contractor under CDM.  
     

About you

 

  • Project Management professional with appropriate experience in project management work in detailed design, procurement and construction of Refinery and Chemical process plants.
