Job Role Summary

We are currently seeking a chemical or mechanical engineer with manufacturing experience to join our Chemicals Global Supply Chain organisation based at our Fawley Chemical Plant at Fawley Refinery. Fawley is a combined refining, lubricants and chemicals manufacturing site which is located on the south coast of England, on the edge of the New Forest National Park.

Job Role Responsibilities

The Chemicals Raw Materials Scheduler is responsible for the coordination of raw materials delivery to meet the operating schedule of Fawley’s chemical operating units. The Scheduler is required to collaborate with Global Supply Chain colleagues based at other ExxonMobil locations and with third party suppliers to plan appropriate schedules. The role will also require the candidate to perform other ad-hoc work items related to production scheduling including, but not limited to, logistics and security of supply and transportation.

The successful candidate would work with a small team of Global Supply Chain colleagues based at the Fawley site, reporting to the Fawley based UK Global Supply Chain Supervisor. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would have the opportunity to develop their career via future positions in Global Supply Chain or technical engineering roles at Fawley and / or other ExxonMobil sites.

Expected Level of Proficiency

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold an engineering degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent subject.
  • Have relevant experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, for example as a Process Engineer, Project Engineer or Production Engineer (four years+ as a guide). Candidates with less than four years’ experience, but who have a high degree of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Have strong IT skills, specifically being an experienced and competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and SAP.


Candidates should also have demonstrated work experience and / or knowledge of:

  • Problem solving and adaptability in an operational environment, such that they would have the ability to adapt supply chain planning to operational events.
  • Working effectively with external parties


Work experience in supply chain is preferred, but not essential.


Skills Required
Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.


Applications open on 8 March 2018 and close on 31 March 2018. The first round of the interview process, which will be a telephone interview, will take place for selected candidates in April. Successful candidates will then be invited to final round interviews, comprising both technical and competency based assessments, following this.
