Job Role Summary


We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Butyl Polymers Finishing Technicians to join our shift team at Fawley Chemical Plant. Fawley is a combined refining, lubricants and chemicals manufacturing site which is located on the south coast of England, on the edge of the New Forest National Park.


Working as part of a small shift team, Butyl Polymers Finishing Technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their work area.  Their focus is on safety, health and the environment, ensuring reliability and operational integrity, while always seeking new ways to improve equipment and systems’ performance.  This role is part of the Butyl Polymer manufacturing plant & finishing operation. Responsibilities involve the safe operation of rubber drying, baling & packaging equipment, including preventative maintenance, product storage & product quality testing. There is an expectation for progression through all the packaging roles to the field operator position. You will be reporting to a Finishing Shift Leader.

• Has relevant experience in a chemical or similar operational environment
• Has leadership experience, or is able to demonstrate the potential to lead
• Has knowledge of health, safety and quality systems

Job Role Responsibilities


• Product packaging, labeling and manual handling tasks 
• Crate movement using Fork Lift Trucks
• Warehouse operations, storage and use of bar coding techniques
• Product quality testing and reporting
• Operation and preventative maintenance of drying, baling & packaging equipment
• Documentation of equipment status & changes to equipment.
• Preparation of equipment for maintenance activities.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping
• Manual handling of goods up to 25kg

Expected Level of Proficiency


• Candidates should have demonstrated experience working in an operational role on a chemical process plant, or related engineering or heavy industry field
