Job Summary

  • The E&M Technician is responsible for keeping all electrical power supplies and equipment operational. The E&M Technician ensures proper installation of equipment and that all applicable codes, regulations, ISO Procedures, and EHSMS procedures are adhered to.
  • The E&M Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment. Installation, maintenance, and repair will be completed following applicable regulation and company training & procedures.
  • The E&M Technician is also a training position to prepare employees to assume roles and responsibilities of other positions that may be necessary in the operation and maintenance of the ExxonMobil business. 
  • This position is expected to respond to call outs, as needed, and may be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays. 
  • This position may provide work direction to other less experienced employees
  • Responsible for stewarding contractor performance
  • Position does not include relocation benefits or travel expense reimbursement associated with the pre-employment process

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan daily work activities in accordance with established Company and Regulatory procedures
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and EHSMS record
  • Maintain inventory of all electrical operating equipment and spares
  • Troubleshoot power and control circuits
  • Perform maintenance with minimal down time to the operation
  • Perform to highest safety standards, including reporting all incidents and discrepancies
  • Follow established mechanical testing procedures and applicable standards
  • Operate mechanical equipment and facilities as required
  • Utilize precision tools and test equipment as needed
  • Perform facility maintenance, including cleaning facilities, grounds upkeep, painting, etc.
  • Identify and effectively utilize outsourced services

Job Requirements

  • Ability to wire complex control circuits from schematic wiring diagrams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electronic theory and PLC principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT, ISO, EHSMS, NEC, and OSHA regulations
  • Able to read and understand station flow and pipeline alignment drawings
  • Able to ascend to the top of tanks and vessel platforms to perform work
  • Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively 
  • Ability to operate hand tools or other pipeline equipment to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Able to use Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent safe work ethic
  • Willing and able to complete fit testing and be certified to wear a respirator 
  • Must be willing and able to attend/complete required training courses  
  • Must be willing and able to work in small team environments  
  • Must be willing and able to work in various locations, both indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Must have safe driving skills 
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
