Job Role Summary

IAM Scrum Master will be responsible for facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective meetings. Will work closely with the Release Train Engineers, Product Owners, Technical Leads and Development team

Job Role Responsibilities

Act as Scrum Master facilitating Scrum Ceremonies with teams of up 15 people. 
Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values
Help the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks and get the most out of self-organization
Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
Remove impediments and/or guide the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Support and educate Product Owners, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example.

Expected Level of Proficiency

Position Specific Skills:
First level Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM I)
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
Knowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burn down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
 
Skills considered an advantage:
Second level Scrum Master Certification (CSP, PSM II)
Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
Experience applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burn down techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
Previous experience as a team lead
Excellent communication and mentoring skills

General Skills:
Project management experience on small to medium scale application implementations
Must have strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
Must be a self-starter who works well in a global virtual team
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to multi-task and manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities
Customer service focus

Skills considered an advantage (Nice-to-have):
Experience with Agile methodology
Version control (MS Team Foundation Server)
PowerShell
