Job Role Summary

Responsible to coordinate an end to end implementation of new Database Management
Systems environments, working as technical resource for Projects, SWIs or base work.

Job Role Responsibilities

Participate in Project, SWI and Base work activity as follows:
Represent DBAM and provide assistance to clients who have engaged DBAM and need database services;
Obtain information of work activity and provide consultation on DBMS infrastructure design for new or existing applications, first implementation or upgrades, in alignment with the DBAM Service Catalog and leveraging the DBAM dedicated clusters;
Assist on the design for the best cost benefit solution with long-term mindset for application use;
Build database systems;
Centrally log details and keep up to date information in regards of the database requirements;
Provide support and assistance during all project phases;
 Execute advanced performance tuning, and automate processes associated to build activities;
Responsible for certify environment in preparation for the go-live;
 Carry out transition to steady state;
 Close work activity in central logging tool;
 Capture lessons learned from closed projects to share with both BUILD and OPERATIONS teams.

• Solutions & Design
 Deploy new technology and configuration as designed by Engineers;
 Provide solutions that minimize database downtime (e.g. high availability, replication) and anticipate DBMS issues;
 Understand advanced security concepts (e.g. encryption, fine-grained access and auditing) and apply them to meet business requirements;
 Design and implement database in accordance to end user needs and views.

Assessment and Consultation
  Lead application assessments as they relate to DBMS technologies;
  Provide consultation to Project Managers assisting with information like costs, time, quality, and other dimensions;
  Assess the need for new and updated practices and lead its development;
  Assess security exposures and design compensating controls for a given DBMS.

Expected Level of Proficiency

Advanced/Fluent English
At least 5 years of experience within Microsoft SQL Server
