IT Cloud Application Support Analyst

Job Role Summary

 

Member of an Agile team responsible for supporting IT Systems for our Manufacturing business customer running our chemical plants and refineries.  Responsible for resolution of day to day Manufacturing application technical issues, interface with internal clients and external vendors, implement changes as specified by business clients and technical leaders, and participate in large global projects related to these applications.

The position will be on a team responsible for implementing & supporting 3rd party applications hosted on ExxonMobil’s cloud hosting platform. One major application being delivered now is a procedures platform which helps our business customers at out plants created digital procedures.   The team’s primary manufacturing clients are engineering users, plant operations, and maintenance technicians.

 

Job Role Responsibilities


• Application troubleshooting and technical analysis to identify root causes and develop problem resolutions
• Provide pro-active and timely communications regarding system outages, issues, work a rounds and solution details
• Able to provide effort estimation for assigned projects and work tasks
• Plan, coordinate, test, and execute potential changes to the applications when required by technical leaders and clients (system upgrade, introduction of new solution, etc.) 
• Develop and update system and support documentation (installation guides, troubleshooting documentation, access documentation, etc.)
• Be cognizant of application security issues and the closure of any identified security gaps (as identified through standard processes such as internal audits, penetration testing, etc.)
• Ensure security and controls standards are being met and followed
• Coordination with other EMIT support teams to maintain application reliability (network team, server team, etc.)
• Team work skills, collaborating with the local/global team pears and maintain them updated about the work status.

Expected Level of Proficiency

 

Technical proficiencies:
• Knowledge of common infrastructure hosting platforms and application architecture (multi-tiered application, high availability, etc.  Hosting platform knowledge required in MS Azure (preferred), Amazon AWS, or on premise virtual server infra.
• Extensive experience in Cloud hosting technologies such as MS Azure, or Amazon AWS, along with experience implementing and supporting vendor applications on the cloud.  Minimum of 3 years experience with cloud technologies.
• Strong experience in database technologies and concepts; experience with management tools such as MS SQL Studio, SSRS, TOAD
• Strong experience in networking technologies and concepts
• Knowledge in Agile  (Scrum), TFS/Azure DevOps, & Remedy/BMC (incident, change, and problem management) will be an advantageous
• Nice to have developer proficiencies: TDD / GitFlow / Javascript frameworks (Angular, React), ETL technologies/tools (SSIS packages, etc), Visual Basic (VBA), & Microsoft programming technologies (.Net Core, C#)
• Nice to have experience in scripting and query languages (PowerShell, T-SQL, etc)

General proficiencies:
• Ability to work remotely from customers and some team members
• Strong communications skills dealing both with technical professionals and business professionals (end users). 
• Demonstrated ability to learn new systems & technologies quickly 
• Ability to multi-task and manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities  
• Analytical and logical with the ability to define and interpret business requirements or investigate problems
• Ability to support/debug programs, and work with users and troubleshoot problems
