What role you will play in our team
Data Engineer will be at the forefront of designing and building modern analytics solutions within the ExxonMobil Data & Analytics ecosystem.
What you will do
Data Engineering:
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to understand Data Products design to enable efficient build
• Develop build solution that encompasses transformation, storage, consumption, security and write back
• Take ownership for the technical build and testing
End-to-End Solution Design and Build
• Responsible for building complex custom Data Products
• Ensure efficient and reliable data movement from source systems to data warehouses
• Ensure adherence to IT principles and architecture mandates
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to address platform enablement and controls
Testing and Deployment
• Participate in testing efforts to validate the solution’s functionality and performance
About you
We are looking for a Data Engineer with +4 years of experience who excels in verbal and written communication, and can work independently as a self-starter. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills and have the ability to develop seamless workflows with business partners and stakeholders. Additionally, they should be able to interface effectively with customers, technology partners, testing, architecture, and analysis groups. Technical requirements include:
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in designing and developing data models, schemas, and queries within the Snowflake Cloud Data Warehouse
- Experience with setting up and managing write back capability from custom frontend to Snowflake
- Knowledge of APIs and streaming data
- Expertise in building and optimizing SQL in Snowflake
- Experience with CI-CD (Git) and DBT (Data Build Tool) for transformation
- Understanding of the principles behind the data mesh approach and its implications for modern data architectures
- Expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines for reliability and performance using Snowflake and SQL
- Proficiency in the analytics stack relevant to the assigned track
- Familiarity with source systems such as SAP S/4HANA (S4).
- Knowledge of financial, operational or stewardship industry business processes
- Experience with Lean Agile environments
