Job Summary

ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI), located in Clinton, New Jersey, is accepting applications for a Toxicology position in the Toxicology & Environmental Sciences Division.  EMBSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the ExxonMobil Corporation, and has more than 100 human health, environmental, and product stewardship experts positioned globally to provide integrated support to ExxonMobil businesses.

Primary Job Functions

ExxonMobil toxicologists evaluate the hazards and risks of chemical and petroleum products and processes.  


Candidates must be able to work independently and interact well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and scientific disciplines to achieve worldwide business objectives and to ensure compliance with corporate policies and international health and environmental regulations.  


Typical activities include product safety evaluations, interaction with international governmental/regulatory agencies, design and monitoring of toxicology research programs, human health risk assessments, developing and communicating expert technical advice, and participation in professional organizations and trade associations.  


This position requires extensive consultation and technical support to ExxonMobil affiliates worldwide and will require occasional domestic and international travel.  

Job Requirements

The prospective candidate should have broad training in toxicology and a Ph.D. in toxicology or a related field.  A strong working knowledge in the design, interpretation, and application of current and emerging toxicology studies to human hazard evaluation and risk assessment is essential.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidates with a M.S. in toxicology or a related field and relevant work experience will also be considered. Experience with quantitative risk assessment is an advantage.
