Industrial IT Cyber Security Engineer

WHAT ROLE WILL YOU PLAY IN OUR TEAM

 

At our IT organization we are looking for an IIT Cyber Security Engineer who is a cyber knowledgeable individual with extensive working background and experience in cyber security and network security. 

This person possesses deep experience in analyzing and examining the full spectrum of network evidence, including high level NetFlow analysis, low-level pcap-based dissection, ancillary network log examination, and can demonstrate a working knowledge of IPS, IDS, Firewalls and their associated security management platforms together with deep knowledge of networking protocols and the use of security auditing tools.

 

  • Solid understanding of cyber incident attacks, techniques and threat intel
  • Support end-to-end networking solutions to support global deployment of Network services including WAN, MAN, Edge, Site, not limited to currently supported Upstream & Midstream site’s industrial system networks
  • Extract files from network packet captures and proxy cache files, allowing follow-on malware analysis or definitive data loss determinations and use of historical data to identify relevant past network occurrences
  • Reverse engineer custom network protocols to identify an attacker's command-and-control abilities and actions
  • Decrypt captured SSL/TLS traffic to identify attackers' actions and what data they extracted from the victim
  • Analyze wireless network traffic to find evidence of malicious activity
  • Learn how to modify configuration on typical network devices such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems to increase the intelligence value of their logs and alerts during an investigation
  • Work with the process control systems (PCS), Wireshark, Nessus, Snort, NMAP, TCPDUMP, etc., and understand how those intersect with cyber security threats in the Industrial Control Systems environment
  • Handle occasional calls related to incident triage, necessitating some on-call hours (as need arise)
  • Perform required safety and security trainings including HUET, BOSIET, etc.
  • Work as a technical resource on project implementation and oversee delivery of network technologies
  • Provide expertise across technical areas while maintaining proficiency in key technical skills and interfaces with customers and other senior technical professionals in the organization
  • Participate in project design development, documentation, change planning and change execution
  • Engage with IIT Technical Leads to recommend design improvements to optimize support

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

 

  • College / University degree and/or technical diploma in IT or relevant field
  • Strong understanding of current networking technologies, platforms and configuration for router / switch / wireless devices preferably in Cisco; Juniper & Emerson
  • Demonstrated expertise in global network design and network technology
  • Knowledge of Windows OS security
  • Hands on experience with ICS systems and applications, i.e. Emerson, Honeywell, GE etc.
  • Ability in offshore platforms and perform required safety and security trainings including HUET, BOSIET, etc.
  • Process Control understanding will be an added advantage
  • Working experience in Security Operations Center and use of associated SIEM tools, a plus, but not required
  • Solid verbal and written communications skills in English with internal teams and business clients and customer-first attitude, ability to work in inter-departmental team environments
  • Initiative, self-monitoring and self-motivated
  • CISSP and GICSP certification preferred, but not required

 

PREFERRED PROFICIENCIES

 

  • Experience in finance or accounting, or support of these capabilities
  • Knowledge of the TOGAF Framework, SAFE agile practices, and DAMA DMBoK v.2
  • Understanding of Information Security awareness
  • Experience designing and implementing business or IT strategies   
  • Experience with SAP systems (including HANA), Cloudera/Hortonworks Hadoop, data integration methods and cloud deployments (including the management of data in the cloud)
