Digital Marketing Payments Advisor


There is a network of 6000+ gas stations in Europe/Africa operating under the Esso and Mobil brands, selling to motorists: high quality fuels, Mobil1 and other lubricant products, food and grocery items.

The Digital and Consumer Payment Programs Advisor will join our regional Fuels Marketing team taking care of the various offer elements for our Retail network, defining the payments strategy and overseeing implementation in the different markets to create a compelling competitive advantage.

We partner with market leading vendors (e.g. AMEX, Paypal) through long term commercial relationships and jointly develop and innovate to enhance our Retail offer.

This is a new position in our recently established Commercial hub in Budapest and has responsibility for the entire region.




  • Develop and grow business by partnering with internal & external groups and customers to identify and capitalize on digital opportunities.
  • Assess and understand industry, consumer and future payment trends and underlying technologies; define related consumer payments programs roadmaps for EAME
  • Negotiate 3rd party contracts and manage relationship with Digital and Consumer card issuers and acquirers, driving profitable growth
  • Lead new product development and ongoing management of existing payment programs – develop compelling offerings for both retailers and consumers (e.g. identify cross selling opportunities)



  • Combination of commercial acumen and vendor management related experience. Proven track record in payment/acquiring is required.
  • Understanding of fuels retail business and/or IT background is an advantage.
  • Excellent relationship management, communication skills and creativity.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
