What Role Will You Play In Our Team

 

We are looking for an experienced Data Privacy professional working in ExxonMobil's Compliance Enablement/ Data Privacy Office, Provides Data Privacy services to their respective ExxonMobil Affiliate on a cross functional level as in country Data Privacy Laws apply to legal entities within a jurisdiction.

 

Data Privacy Advisor/Contact working in ExxonMobil’s Compliance Enablement / Data Privacy Office provide Data Privacy services to their respective ExxonMobil Affiliates on a cross functional level as in country Data Privacy laws apply to legal entities within a jurisdiction. DP Officer/Contact will ensure their Affiliate is aware of and complies with the DP legislation that applies to it. DP Advisor/Contact will coordinate between their local DP Champion Network representing the different functions, the global Data Privacy Advisors and others who may deliver DP actions.

 

DP Officers/Contacts interact internally with EM Law, EMIT, Business and Services Lines and Audit groups as well as various leadership teams, they occasionally travel when the situation demands it.

What You Will Do

 

  • Maintain professional knowledge of applicable DP Law, use Data Guidance to seek additional information when needed.
  • Monitor developments of local DP Laws, Supervisory Authority guidelines, other national laws and regulations and requirements and altert the global DP Advisors to material changes and to keep local Management abreast of local DP requirements
  • Serve as the affiliate contact point for Supervisory Authority
  • Lead the Affiliate’s DP Champion network of department/functional contacts
  • Coordinate and conduct internal Data Privacy health checks
  • Review privacy assessments, including DPIAs completed by the global DP Office Advisor to confirm compliance with local requirements and request enhancements when needed
  • Steward implementation of DP Actions on behalf of Affiliate Management, including monitoring status of transfer mechanisms
  • Assist the global Data Privacy Office in maintaining the General Data Protection Notice
  • Handle Affiliate Data Subject Access Requests (SARs) by:
    • Receive request and liaise with the requestor
    • Gather PI from owners of Local Systems
    • Liaise with DP Office to gather PI from owners of Global Systems
    • Prepare PI for release to the Data Subject
  • DP Training:
    • Give input and enhance global training material to meet local requirements where necessary while considering gerenal interest
    • Deliver training for special interest groups as needed
  • Investigate and resolve any data privacy related questions raised by Data Subjects, Personal Data Incidents
  • Conduct internal reviews, health checks of local processing activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve the Compliance Enablement/Data Privacy Office and DP Advisor's/Contact’s work
  • Network with the wider Data Privacy team to stay abreast of global updates to DP laws / trends and global process updates

About You: Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Fluent English, strong Italian and / or French knowledge. 
  • Relevant legal and/or privacy qualification or equivalent is desirable.
  • Several years of similar business experience.
  • Familiarity with conducting/reviewing privacy risk assessments
  • Attention to detail 
  • Solid understanding of IT in a major company covering Apps, Databases, Networks, Servers, Cloud etc
  • Demonstrated Self-Starter with ability to gain required knowledge in dynamic environments
  • An International Association of Privacy Professionals qualification (CIPP/e, CIPT etc) or willingness to study for and take one. An alternative DP qualification may be acceptable
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization on DP topics
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Develops solutions to problems, checking where appropriate with senior management
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to details
  • Ability to take variable perspectives
  • Team player 
  • Good communication/collaboration and presentation/training skills
  • Good information gathering and analytical skills
