What role you will play in our team

The Biofuels Analyst has a key role in delivering on our sustainability commitments and ensuring that the corporation is in full compliance with laws and regulations in every geography we operate. They are responsible for the follow up and handling of the biofuels / emissions / Compulsory Stock Obligation (CSO) balancing and reporting for a certain cluster in Europe.

They collaborate closely with Traders and Biofuels Optimizers in Europe for activities including executing the biofuels / emissions / CSO certificate trades and monitoring the compliance performance. The Analyst also acts as an expert of local end European carbon and sustainability legislation applicable for their assigned cluster. Their support includes complex analytics, government reporting, transaction accounting, documentation and more.

What you will do

  • Execute the optimization plan of biofuel operations Europe
  • Contribute to the success of ticket trading strategy in Europe
  • Identify and implement new business opportunities related to biofuels
  • Continuously adapt processes to cope with the fast changing environment in the biofuel world
  • Being first line contact for the government for all biofuels related declarations to ensure full company's compliance with laws.
  • Handling CSO and Emission trading ticket contracts.
  • Manage large and complex data sets from multiple sources to understand our real-time position versus the different biofuels (sub) mandates.
  • Follow-up bio / emissions / CSO volumes and related Carbon and Sustainability (C&S) information received or issued under partner agreements.
  • Perform complex price calculations and verifications to improve profitability of biofuel activities

 

About you: skills and qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Economics / STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) / Business Administration, Finance or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience is an advantage.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with complex data structures.
  • Outstanding attention to details in a fast paced environment.
  • Work with high accuracy under pressure of financial accountability and deadlines.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
  • SAP experience is a benefit.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural organization.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
