The Product Stewardship Advisor will be a subject matter expert providing advice, guidance and implementation support to global and local business units (BUs), with particular emphasis on regulatory compliance in chemical control management, safety, health and environmental regulations and the ExxonMobil corporate product safety policy. This role is based in Brussels, Belgium.


Job Role Responsibilities

• Improve and ensure Product Stewardship process implementation within BU to comply with regulatory requirements such as country chemical inventories, GHS implementation, REACH-type regulations, SHE hazard communications and product notifications
• Develop and recommend compliance strategies and plans to the impacted organizations
• Drive collaboration and synergy capture in compliance and advocacy functions across  businesses
• Maintain knowledge of developing and existing Product Stewardship regulations (Global, BU, local).
• Develop and recommend advocacy strategies and plans to the impacted organizations
• Represent ExxonMobil in externally-facing activities, including trade association participation, if necessary
• Communicate regulations and work with business to identify impact and compliance actions
• Maintain knowledge of business initiatives that have Product Stewardship implications
• Internal and external training support of Product Stewardship requirements
• Product Stewardship Subject Matter Expert in the development and maintenance of ExxonMobil management systems
• Ensure regulatory compliance activities conform to the expectations set forth in the MS Frameworks
• Facilitate and coordinate BU initiatives to achieve and maintain compliance to regulations and policy
• Facilitate implementation of regulatory changes in BU
• Develop and steward metrics to measure compliance with country specific regulations and policy
• Liaison with Technology, Operations, and Health Sciences functions supporting cross-functional compliance
• Participate in BU networks to exchange information and collaborate on PS related matters

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience in regulatory compliance product stewardship
• Strong team work competencies especially across geographies/cultures
• Strong analytical & systems skills with the ability to turn data into informed insights
• Outstanding written, presentation and oral communication skills
• Occasional travel and teleconferences outside of normal working hours may be required


Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated work experiences across Regulatory, Technical, Manufacturing, or SHE functions
• Experience in Lubricants or Chemical industry
• Ability to influence without authority
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in multi-cultural environment
