Job description

Provide technical support for customers through:

  • Trials of new, existing, and developmental ExxonMobil Chemical EPDM rubber
  • Guidance for compound formulations involving ExxonMobil EPDM rubber in existing customer formulations to meet market applications
  • Familiarity with rubber compounds property testing, characterization and result analysis
  • Supporting conversion processing trials of formulated compounds
  • Technical input regarding product trouble shooting, application and design assistance
  • Presentations describing entire Portfolio of ExxonMobil Chemicals products and processes
  • Develop relationships with key customer contacts for continuing business development
  • Maintain close working relationships with Sales account representatives for assigned customer accounts
  • Maintain close working relationships with EMCC Manufacturing personnel to support Manufacturing operations and facilitate timely customer complaint resolution
  • Maintain familiarity with commercial polymer converting techniques through interactions with equipment manufacturers and literature surveys
  • Able to survey market trends and conduct patent monitoring
  • Provide technical training to Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing personnel
  • Be visible in the industry through public presentations and attendance at customer seminars and trade shows
  • Develop, use and support common work practices and information sharing with direct work group, inter-regional and international peers
  • Support Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs staff to determine/maintain regulatory compliance of ExxonMobil Chemicals products
  • Translate customer/market needs into new products through product modification or new product development

Job Requirements


  • BSc. or higher degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or polymer-related field,
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in rubber formulation, processing and applications
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and possess excellent administrative and organizational competencies
  • Ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships across multiple business functions and in diverse work group

Preferred Knowledge & Skills :

  • English is mandatory, French, German or Italian would be an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with rubber compounding and formulation work, as well as extrusion/calendaring/milling processes. 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
