Typical Supply chain candidates would have a technical background with relevant experience in supply chain. Candidates should be interested in industrial problem solving, have strong analytical skills and commercial acumen. They should be able to flexibly deal with changing priorities as well as be able to negotiate the best solution for all parties involved.


Job details
Chemicals Supply Chain jobs fall into 3 main categories in Benelux:

  • Sales & Operations Planning roles deal with the areas of reconciling sales forecast with production and then managing inventories to maintain agreed service levels
  • Logistics & Distribution positions manage our logistics service providers (warehouses, trucking companies, shipping lines), stewarding them to ensure that they meet our safety, security, environmental and other requirements as well as working with procurement on contracting strategies.
  • Strategy & Optimization roles lead improvement projects in Chemical Supply Chain

The tasks could be split by product type (solids such as polymers or liquids such as solvents). These positions provide a great opportunity to work cross-functionally and learn about ExxonMobil and also are connected to the outside world of suppliers and customers.


Career perspective
We hire people for a long-term career. After an initial assignment in Supply chain, you might have the opportunity to rotate within the discipline (e.g. from Planning to Logistics) or depending on personal skills, interests and organizational needs, move to other roles within the company. Such roles may include financial planning, manufacturing, technology, marketing or product management and sales. You may be exposed to the different Chemicals, Downstream and Upstream businesses of ExxonMobil.


Job Requirements

  • MSc University education with demonstrated academic achievement. Typically, this would be a first degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and then postgraduate study.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in supply chain area :
    • For S&OP roles, relevant experience in S&OP or Integrated Business Planning. APICS CPIM certification is considered to be an asset as well
    • For L&D roles, relevant experience in supply chain/logistics in containerized shipping industry, preferably in operations, trade or customer service. Operational knowledge in SAP / GT Nexus will be an added advantage
    • For S&O, relevant experience in supply chain/logistics and project management
  • Language requirements: Fluency in English required; and command of Dutch or French
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proactive, with an ability to anticipate, identify and resolve potential issues
  • Effective leadership skills, including influencing with no direct formal authority
  • Customer focus, ability to learn and adapt to change quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with people from various backgrounds in developing innovative solutions of highest


Recruitment process:

If pre-selected, you will be invited to first round of interview in Brussels Campus (if not convenient, the round can be held via Skype). If successful, the second round, face to face, will be organized shortly.

You will be informed about the result of interview round(s) in short term.
