Job description


The job opening is in the vibrational spectroscopy laboratory of the Analytical Science department in the European Technology Center of ExxonMobil Chemical Europe Inc. 

 The Lab Technician will be involved in general support of R&D activities.

  • Chemist with basic working knowledge in the area of analytical testing

  • General interest in operation and maintenances of analytical equipment
Roles and responsibilities


The Lab Technician will:

  • Ensure safe lab operations on a daily basis
  • Ensure quality of results and reporting
  • Be trained in a variety vibrational spectroscopy and sample preparation techniques
  • Perform testing and analyze data
  • IR spectroscopy
  • IR microscopy and imaging
  • TGA-IR hyphenated technique
  • AFM-IR hyphenated technique
  • Analyze polymers, fluids, gases
  • Collate and report data in a meaningful manner for requestors
  • Work with other experienced technicians from other analytical science laboratories
