Environmental Coordinator - Billings, MT

Job Role Summary

As a member of the refinery environmental team, the Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and improving existing systems to ensure compliance with regulations related to air, water, waste, and/or other environmental issues.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Implement existing regulatory compliance systems
  • Identify and implement improvements to compliance systems
  • Facilitate strong environmental performance at refinery
  • Communicate regulatory requirements within refinery
  • Participate in evaluation of applicability of new regulations
  • Coordinate with environmental consultants and contractors on behalf of refinery

Job Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated practical experience may substitute in lieu of degree

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of process safety, operations, and facilities requirements in the petrochemical industry
  • Demonstrated experience in environmental compliance management for petrochemical or related industries
  • Good organizational and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and decision making tools
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and gain consensus
  • Ability to influence decisions without direct authority
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills 
  • Proficient computing skills and applications uses and ability to develop presentations, spreadsheets, documents, and databases
