What role you will play in our team

  • Seeking candidates to work on challenging engineering problems for our upstream and low carbon solution business lines. 
  • Specific areas of interest for this position include application of solids mechanics and fracture mechanics to tackle a range of problems related to well design and operation.

What you will do

  • Work with wells engineers, drilling and completion experts, computational and data scientists, and laboratory scientists across the globe to enhance understanding of subsurface technologies and tools 
  • Build computational models and simulations using proprietary and vendor tools to enhance design and operational practices and address evolving business needs. 
  • Analyze simulation results and develop technical reports and presentations 
  • Design, build and execute parametric studies using simulation models to provide engineering design recommendations for business decisions
  • Create tutorials, documentation, training material or case studies
  • Mentor other engineers to help build their technical competencies in solids/fracture mechanics and modeling

About You

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Master's with (minimum 3 years of experience) or PhD with (minimum 1 year of experience) from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines with minimum GPA 6.0 and above is required.
  • Demonstrated capability in applying solids mechanics principles in solving business problems 
  • Experience in working with problems related to fracture mechanics and fracture modeling
  • Strong Finite Element Method basics and experience with working with a Finite Element tool (ABAQUS preferred) 
  • Understanding of Extended Finite Element method (XFEM) or discontinuity modeling preferred 
  • Experience in using engineering programing packages like MATLAB or python for data analytics, numerical computation and automation is preferred
  • Previous work experience in the geomechanics or upstream oil and gas domain is preferred but not necessary
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, collaboration and problem solving are required

 

 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

 

  • Master's with (minimum 3 years of experience) or PhD with (minimum 1 year of experience) from a recognized university in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, Civil Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Strong work experience in Solid Mechanics.
