What you will do

 

The Vessel Logistics Manager is responsible to set strategic priorities and establish clear focus areas in support of Corporate and Supply Chain vessel logistics initiatives. The Vessel Logistics Manger will lead a team size of 20-50 employees, delivering reliable, cost-efficient bulk marine end to end logistics execution, including identification of supply chain marine optimization and debottlenecking opportunities. The role is fast paced, dynamic and challenging involving support to worldwide operations that continuously operate in multiple time zones. 

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

o    Support development and execute marine coverage strategy in support of Business Line strategies to deliver lowest unit cost.
o    Maximize contractual and financial performance of commercial agreements to include working closely with commodity and freight traders 
o    Oversee global portfolio of marine tonnage under various charter agreement (i.e term, spot, contract of affreightment, etc.) and seek opportunities to maximize value through fleet optimization (i.e outcharter, stowage plan, repositioning, bunkering, etc.)
o    Ensure flawless operations in scheduling & dispatch of vessels, meeting corporate marine safety requirements
o    Accountable for performance against KPIs, and development of gap closure / improvement initiatives
o    Identify opportunities and champion best practices to enhance productivity and simplify work processes
o    Planning and Budgeting for team and marine costs
o    Optimize marine movements and reduce demurrage and oil loss exposure 
o    Responsible for employee resourcing and career development of staff, effectively coach/mentor team 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

 

o    Supply chain, coordination, logistics, and optimization experience
o    Demonstrated leadership experience driving functional results 
o    Strategic mindset to foster identification of opportunities and improvement initiatives
o    Ability to collaborate across multiple businesses and value chains
o    Experience with third party service provider oversight, commercial judgement and negotiation
o    Strong business judgement and able to independently make quick decisions with limited guidance.
