What role you will play in our team

 

The Research Technologist will support application development and testing of polymer products. This role is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, the role involves conducting laboratory testing aligned with international standards and ExxonMobil’s proprietary methods. The position contributes to product performance validation and business value creation through collaboration with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

What you will do

 

  • Conduct laboratory testing of polymer products using ASTM, ISO, and ExxonMobil in-house methods.
  • Analyze and report test data to provide insights that support business decisions.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure consistent and accurate performance.
  • Collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to support product development and application work.
  • Ensure compliance with ExxonMobil’s safety, controls, and quality standards during all lab operations.
  • Demonstrate ownership and General Interest (GI) behaviors to drive continuous improvement

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications.

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in Rubber/Polymer/Plastic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering with CGPA: 6.5 or equivalent academic performance.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience into Research, Operations, Production, Technical services, Tribology and Product or application development..
  • Technical Knowledge:
    o Understanding polymer science, materials engineering, and chemical processing.
    o Exposure to laboratory testing, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
    o Familiarity with ASTM and ISO standards.
  • Key Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
    o Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
    o Attention to detail and safety.
    o Time management and task prioritization.
    o Ethical conduct and quality focus Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

Preferred Qualifications/Experiences

 

Hands-on experience in polymer processing techniques such as injection molding, blow molding, blown film extrusion, or general extrusion.

  • Knowledge of polymer applications, material selection, and performance attributes, customer interactions.

Familiarity with laboratory management tools like LIMS or SAP.

  • Willingness to work in fixed or flexible shifts.
  • Open to occasional travel for training or project- related activities.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence in polymer applications and laboratory operations.

    • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
    • Effective communicator and team collaborator.
    • Adaptable to dynamic schedules and open to occasional travel.
