ExxonMobil is seeking qualified and experienced individual to lead company efforts and innovative technology solutions to advance Refractory and Ceramic Material Technologies in support and expertise to our global operations. The candidate would be part of Materials Engineering team in ExxonMobil Services and Technology Private Limited, Whitefield, Bengaluru in India.

What you will do

 

  • Collaborate across multi-discipline teams and engage with external partners to identify innovative refractory and ceramic technologies.
  • Evaluate refractory and ceramic material offerings for application in existing and emerging petrochemical applications.
  • External industry engagement to advance industry standards for refractory and ceramics.
  • Support all business line operations – Product Solutions, Low Carbon Solutions and Upstream in the area of operational integrity and project development.
  • Provide technical mentoring and continuous on-the-job guidance to develop early career engineers on the team.
  • Coordinate and communicate between various global centers and business affiliates for knowledge transfer, sharing learnings, skill management and maintaining business relationships.
  • Continuously stay abreast of latest developments in industry standards/practices, bring in learnings/experience to challenge and improve company work processes/practices, and technology.

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from a recognized university in Ceramic Engineering, Material Science with focus on Ceramic Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field of Ceramic Engineering and Technology.
  • Willing and able to perform confined space entry.

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experiences

 

  • Field experience with ceramic/refractories for petrochemical or other heavy industrial applications is highly preferred (steel making, cement, etc.).
  • Experience with ceramic/ceramic composites is highly preferred (aerospace materials etc.).
  • Experience in decarbonization processes for heavy industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with refractory system design, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate novel ideas quickly and effectively.
  • Experienced in leading new technology development and deployment.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute as part of a multi-discipline team.
  • Demonstrated relevant examples of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Broad knowledge and work experience in other non-metallic technologies (i.e., coatings, linings, polymers, and composites) and corrosion protection is valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills in English, adaptability/interpersonal skills.
  • Work shift is normally in the afternoon shift (01:30 pm to 10:30 pm) with flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally as per business needs.
